Dydd Mercher y Lludw – Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday – the beginning of Lent. This year, during the Ash Wednesday afternoon service we will mark your forehead with an ash heart, because Ash Wednesday is 14th February – St. Valentine’s Day. We should love each other as God has loved us.

Eleni, yn ystod y gwasanaeth ‘pnawn Dydd Mercher y Lludw, byddwn ni’n nodi eich talcen â calon lludw, oherwydd mae Dydd Mercher y Lludw ydy’r 14eg Mis Chwefror – Dydd Sant Folant! Rhaid i ni garu ein gilydd fel y mae Duw wedi ein caru ni.

Bydd ein Llythyr Grawys gyda chi yn y post yn fuan a fydd yn cynnwys manylion ein Hwythnosau Sanctaidd eleni, ie, pythefnos – dechrau ar Sul y Dioddefaint (17eg Mawrth). Y rheswm am hyn yw er mwyn creu ychydig mwy o le wrth i ni baratoi ar gyfer Dydd Gwener y Groglith a Dydd y Pasg – Mae hefyd yn golygu y gallwn wneud ychydig mwy heb orlenwi digwyddiadau i mewn yr un wythnos…

Our Lent Letter will be with you in the post shortly which will include details of our Holy Weeks this year, yes, two weeks – beginning on Passion Sunday (17th March). The reason for this is to create a little more space as we prepare for Good Friday and Easter Day – It also means we can do a little more without crowding events in to the one week…

We believe in inclusive Church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”
