Dydd Sul Nesaf – Next Sunday
17fed Mis Tachwedd – 17th November
Mae’r Eglwys yng Nghymru yn nodi Dydd Sul Diogelu ar 17 Tachwedd mewn partneriaeth gyda sefydliad diogelu Cristnogol Thirtyone:eight. Thema eleni yw “Gadewch i Ni Siarad Amdano”, sy’n annog eglwysi i fod yn fwy agored am eu harferion diogelu.
Mae Archesgob Cymru, Andrew John, yn annog eglwysi i nodi’r dyddiad.
Dywedodd, “Mae gwarchod pobl fregus wrth galon y neges Gristnogol a dyna pam fod yr Eglwys yng Nghymru yn ymroddedig i fod yn ‘eglwys ddiogel’. Mae Dydd Sul Diogelu yn gyfle i ganolbwyntio ar yr hyn mae’n ei olygu i fod yn eglwys ddiogel, i’n hatgoffa fod eglwys ddiogel yn gyfrifoldeb i bawb ac i ddiolch a gweddïo dros bawb sy’n gweithio ym maes diogelu. Gobeithiaf y bydd ein holl eglwysi yn ymuno ac yn nodi’r diwrnod pwysig hwn.”

The Church in Wales is marking Safeguarding Sunday on November 17 in partnership with the Christian safeguarding organisation Thirtyone:eight. This year the theme is “Let’s Talk About It”, encouraging churches to be more open about its safeguarding practices.
The Archbishop of Wales, Andrew John, is calling on all churches to take part.
He says, “Protecting vulnerable people is at the heart of the Christian message and that is why the Church in Wales is committed to being a ‘safe church’. Safeguarding Sunday is a chance to focus on what it means to be a safe church, to remind us that a safe church is everyone’s responsibility and to thank and pray for all those working in safeguarding. I hope all our churches will join in and mark this important day.”

“We believe in inclusive Church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”
