Yn cyflwyno Eryl, Offeiriad Arloesol i Bro Gwydyr … Mae’r Parch Eryl Parry wedi symud i Trefriw yn ddiweddar, wrth i’w gŵr David ddod yn Archddiacon newydd i ni ac maen nhw wrth eu bodd yn ymgartrefu yn eu cartref newydd. Fel Offeiriad Arloesol ym Mro Celynnin, mae Eryl wedi casglu dwy gymuned addoli newydd: ‘Addoli yn y Gwyllt’ (cerdded fyfyriol fisol) a’r ‘Canmol Celtaidd’ crwydrol (cyfarfod yn eglwys hynafol Llangelynnin Pasg – Hydref, ac yn St. Gyffin Benedict dros y gaeaf), yn ogystal â phrosiectau celfyddydol sydd wedi helpu i ymgysylltu â’r gymuned ehangach. Tra bydd y rhain yn parhau, mae’r Archesgob Andrew wedi ei gwahodd i ehangu ei rôl, i ymuno â Thîm Gweinidogaeth Bro Gwydyr ac i weithio gyda Chyfarwyddwr y Weinidogaeth (David Morris) i annog galwedigaethau cenhadol. Meddai Eryl, “Rwy’n edrych ymlaen yn fawr at ddod i adnabod y cymunedau yn y lle sydd eisoes yn teimlo fel cartref. Allwn i ddim fod wedi cael dechrau mwy teilwng na chymryd rhan yn y ‘Gŵyl Garrog’ bendigedig – arwydd cyffrous o bethau i ddod!”

Introducing Eryl, a Pioneer Priest for Bro Gwydyr … Rev Eryl Parry has recently moved to Trefriw, as husband David has become our new Archdeacon and they are really enjoying settling into their new home. As a Pioneer Priest in neighbouring Bro Celynnin, Eryl has gathered two new worshipping communities: ‘Worship in the Wild’ (monthly contemplative walking) and the nomadic ‘Celtic Praise’ (meeting in the ancient church of Llangelynnin Easter – October, and in St Benedict’s Gyffin over the winter), as well as arts projects that have helped to engage the wider community. Whist these will continue, Archbishop Andrew has invited her to widen her role, to join the Bro Gwydyr Ministry Team and to work with the Director of Ministry (David Morris) to encourage mission-orientated vocations. Says Eryl, “I’m really looking forward to getting to know the communities in the place that already feels like home. I couldn’t have engineered a more fitting start than taking part in the wonderful ‘Gŵyl Garrog’ – an exciting sign of things to come!”
Visitors from Down-Under Last week Col and Carol Evans paid a visit to Betws-y-Coed to meet with Jim Boughton and Abigail Henderson to discuss the Victoria Welsh Choir from Australia. Col has been working on a tour for the choir with a concert to be performed in St Mary’s Church, Betws-y-Coed as part of the annual Welsh Male Voice Choir Concerts. We very much look forward to welcoming Col, Carol and the choir in the next couple of years.
“We believe in inclusive Church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”
